Nice is renowned for its wonderful climate, spectacular beaches, and a stunning landscaped coastline. Buildings are influenced by its excellent architecture, with Belle Epoque and Baroque. Before anything else, the sea and the Mediterranean climate were the twin variables that had made Nice a tourist destination as early as the 1700s. Look around and see the same simple attractions.
Pleasant, capital of the French Riviera's Alpes-Maritimes department, sits on the pebbly shores of the Baie des Anges. A "sandy" beach outside Nice is the most common option: it's just 20 minutes on the bus or a super fast motorbike trip. It's about a 15-minute walk down several stairs and from the bus stop through the Old City, but the train drops just above the water. Nice is one of France's few cities with gorgeous beaches right at its doorstep.
Vieux Nice is vibrant both day and night and is one of Nice's most popular areas for drinks after work or parties until early morning! For the real Good nightlife experience, these bars should not be missed. Many evenings you just want to dance. And when you have the urge to cut loose in the bar, Nice and it is more than indulging neighbors of the French Riviera like Cannes and Monte Carlo.

Driving around Nice city with a rental car can be a problem but not impossible. It is a nice way to get around, but we suggest that you look at the laws of local traffic because they differ from what you are used to. Bear in mind that traffic can be thick in rush hour, so it can take longer to reach your destination.
